Minister of Education officially opens workshop “STEM and ICT integration at all levels of Education”

On November 22nd, Devotra implemented a workshop covering the necessity of integrating ICT and STEM at all levels of Education. The workshop was organized by Devotra in close cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Council for TVET (COTVET) and African Bagg.

The workshop was officially opened by the Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh. The Minister addressed the 180 attendees who represented the secondary, TVET and Higher Education sector in Ghana, about the importance of STEM and ICT in education to build 21st century skills.

During the day various key note speakers such as Mr. Fred K. Asamoah, Executive Director COTVET, Mr. Joshua Mallet, Director CENDLOS, addressed the need to integrate STEM and ICT in all education sectors.

Presentation of the successfully implemented STEM and ICT project “Smart classrooms for TVET improvement in Kenya” case study by Devotra

The workshop included discussions amongst the different attendees on how STEM and ICT can improve education by providing digital learning resources combined with (CBET) hands-on training. It was concluded that the digital learning resources and training materials can significantly support the teacher to teach “21st century skills” which focus on three key pillars “think, act and communicate”.
