In September 2018, Devotra signed a contract with Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) in Nairobi for Supply Chain Management and Procurement Services for the Kenya Education For Employment Program (KEFEP)
One part of the project consists of the turn-key delivery of specialized industry based training equipment to deliver the newly developed CBET curriculum. Devotra’s expertise has been hired to provide the CICan and the KEFEP project partners with professional support on the following project components:
- CBET equipment mapping
- Preparation equipment specifications and infrastructure requirements
- Site surveys
- The whole international tendering and procurement process
- Door to door supply chain management
- Installation and commissioning
On 25 and 26 October 2018 Devotra organized a procurement kick-off workshop in Nairobi, to inform all stakeholders of the project about the equipment procurement process. Representatives of CICan, the National Polytechnics, MOE-DTE, CDACC and TVETA, as well as the First Secretary of Cooperation from the Canadian High Commission were present. All were fully informed about the course of the project and the whole procurement process from equipment mapping to final installation and commissioning.
During the same week of 25 October 2018, the technical engineers of Devotra conducted site surveys at each of the 10 National Polytechnics. This in order get a clear picture of which available infrastructure the National Polytechnics would make available for the new equipment that will be delivered under this project. At each location the project was discussed in detail, the allocated workshops were visited and a detailed report was drafted for each National Polytechnic. Overall the site surveys were executed very smoothly, due to the support of Devotra’s local partners of Murishi Ltd. and the dedicated staff that was available at each National Polytechnic.
