On 8th – 10th February 2019 the Hands on the Future Conference took place in Kenya.
The edition of this year again included the so-called Kenya 2019 Skills Show. Devotra participated with their local partners Murishi Ltd. with a booth, where they exhibited the Smart Classroom concept. The booth was frequently visited and demonstrations were given to different official TVET stakeholders, including also teachers, students, parents, etc.

The HOTF Conference Convened by the Permanent Working Group (PWG) on Technical & Vocational Education and Training in partnership with the TVET Authority is a three (3) day “Hands-on” Exhibition of TVET skills, career and training opportunities. The event activities were exhibitions, workshops and professional career counselling.

The conference objectives were:

  • Sensitize youth and their parents to the multitude of career possibilities and training opportunities that exist in Kenya;
  • Provide a forum for public and private TVET institutions, NGOs, private companies AND development partners to showcase their technical, vocational, entrepreneurship and life skills education and training opportunities; and
  • Improve the image of TVET among students and the general public.
