Earlier this year Devotra had been awarded the contract for the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and training on the use and maintenance of mechanical engineering training equipment for the Thika Technical Training Institute (Thika TTI).
The mechanical engineering equipment consisted of complete workshop equipment for metal works, such as CNC Lathe and Milling Machines, Welding equipment and various equipment for Automotive Engineering. Furthermore the equipment was also completed with sophisticated diagnostic equipment and practical simulation trainers.
After receiving the award a Devotra team went to Thika TTI for a site survey to make sure the workshops are suitable and ready for the new equipment. We had listed some recommendations for certain necessary repairs and cleaning actions to the workshops for Thika TTI to fulfil. At the same time we procured the goods from the various suppliers, for arrival on time in our warehouse in Tholen. Before consolidation all goods have been checked, inspected and if applicable and necessary pre-installed. Just before leaving our warehouse the customer (Ministry of Education) and the SGS inspection agency conducted the final inspections.
In Kenya our local team of engineers was monitoring the works at the school and made further preparations to streamline the arrival of the goods. These could be installed at the workshops immediately on arrival. After the installation period of two weeks our team of international trainers was ready to conduct training to the new equipment to the various topics: automotive, electrical / electronics and (CNC) machining engineering; each discipline for a full week.
At the official final inspection of the Ministry of Education there were no remarks and therefore the project was accepted and released to the institution.
